VX Air Produces the Smiles!
Stop two of the VX Sailing Roadshow was all about the VX Air, with Lake Neusiedl in Austria providing the perfect stage for this modern two-person trapeze boat. Based at Yachtclub Podersdorf on the eastern side of the lake, the VX Air spent two days showing sailors exactly what it is designed to do: make high-performance sailing fast, accessible and fun.
Lake Neusiedl, which straddles Austria and Hungary, is famously shallow, saline and wind-friendly. It was an ideal venue for a light, responsive asymmetric skiff, and around 18 people came out for a sail across the two-day stop.
The aim was simple: take people sailing and let them feel the magic of trapezing in a balanced, double-handed boat. The group included experienced dinghy and keelboat sailors, kite surfers, club members and first-time VX Air passengers.
Two Days on Lake Neusiedl
Day one brought around 5 knots of breeze, giving sailors an easy introduction to the boat and its systems. Day two was close to perfect, with about 10 knots for most of the day before the breeze built to 15 knots in the afternoon, giving the VX Air a chance to stretch its legs.
A Boat That Makes People Smile
One of the best parts of the stop was the range of people who stepped aboard, from the yacht club president and a current Tornado world champion to Laser sailors, D-One sailors, keelboat sailors and kite surfers. Different backgrounds, different experience levels, but the same reaction each time: big smiles and a clear sense that the VX Air delivers something special.
